Everyone’s favorite robot from the movie “Short Circuit” made into Lego form!

The RCX (yellow brick) controls the movement of the arms while the touch sensors monitor motion of the 40-tooth gears to set the arms in position after they move. It receives infrared messages from the NXT via the IR link sensor.

The NXT (white brick) controls the drive motors and the head/laser movement while also controlling operations on the RCX via the IR link sensor.

Occasionally, J5 will say something from the movie, lower his laser (with a corresponding LED illuminated), bob his head and move his arms in relation to what he says.

He can sense distance with the ultrasonic sensor and can hear with the sound sensor on his back.
