Specifications:

1X PF Battery Box

1X PF IR Receiver

4X PF XL Motors

1X 7.4V 3.7A Li-Po

4X ExoForce Wheels

2X Pair PF LED Lights

This versatile rover uses four of the Power Functions (PF) XL motors for significant power especially for using ExoForce wheels (because of size and torque required to drive them). The chassis has the ability to flex to keep all wheels in contact with the ground when traveling over rough surfaces.

The rover also supports a add-on procurement mainly for a camera for taking on-board video.

It’s been tested to run on grass, dirt, gravel, small rocks and even snow.

However due to current limiting in the Power Functions IR receiver and the battery box zero-degree turning cannot be done othwerwise the protection circuit cuts off power to all the motors. To turn tightly each set of motors must be used one at a time in jockey-like motion. It can turn while in motion by just using one set of motors to curve it in the desired direction of travel.
